Hali Publications produces events under the COVER Connect and HALI brands. COVER Connect New York and COVER Connect Las Vegas, boutique rug shows, are highlights on the events calendar. For HALI, academic conferences and antique fairs attract a devoted audience. We also offer bespoke art and design event services. This includes everything from event concepts to talk programmes and buyers’ tours.

COVER Connect New York

COVER Connect New York is a boutique rug show of leading high-end brands from across the USA and beyond, held annually in central Manhattan in September. The CCNY brands are hand selected by COVER magazine to give visitors a curated selection of handmade rugs tailored to suit a huge range of tastes and requirements. Open to the trade only, COVER Connect New York attracts serious international buyers and design industry professionals. It offers these visitors premier production from Nepal, India, Turkey and Afghanistan: the most sought-after traditional, transitional and contemporary rugs in an exclusive, intimate setting.

COVER Connect Las Vegas

COVER Connect Las Vegas takes place annually at Surfaces in Las Vegas: it is a boutique show-within-a-show. The leading high-end brands at the COVER Connect Las Vegas pavilion come from across the USA and beyond. All brands are specially invited by COVER magazine and offer some of the highest quality handmade rugs on the market, of a range to suit every requirement.

HALI Events

The origin of our company can be found in the world of antique carpets and textiles and our involvement goes far beyond our magazines and books. In 1978, HALI magazine was born out of an international conference. Consequently we have been hosting academic symposia for more than forty years. Our close relationships with gallerists, dealers and collectors ensure the success of our fairs, which we have hosted at regular intervals for the past three decades. We occasionally also arrange and consult on private and museum exhibitions.

For our 200th issue of the magazine, we hosted a major symposium at the National Gallery in London featuring international scholars. In 2023, we turned our attention to Safavid carpets, holding a conference in Genoa with over 200 international attendees

Conferences

The HALI Fair brings together the world’s top dealers in antique carpets and textiles. Previous iterations have been held at Olympia and at the Mall Galleries in London. During the pandemic, we went online with more than thirty of our favourite galleries

Fairs

So far we have helped conceive and curate exhibitions in the UK, Turkey, Azerbaijan, China and the US. Lately, we have provided exhibition design for a show of Indian textiles at The Textile Museum in Washington, DC, and curated an exhibition of Persian carpets in Italy
